Yep.
I made a REAL RAG rug this time.
I took the VERY BOTTOM of the BARREL scraps.
The stuff that would have been thrown out!
The t-shirt leftovers from t-shirt quilts.
The necks.
The Bulky hems.
Oh....
I used some of the smooth strips too.
;)
I HAD to find out what would happen.
???????
This is definitely EXTREME crafting.
LOL!
I'm going to use this in my bathroom
and I'm going to LOVE it!!!
My Bumpy.
Beautiful.
Bathmat.
After that experiment with scraps...
I longed for something soft and simple.
I used THREE strands of SOFT.
Mmmm....
It feels so nice!!!
The THING about weaving.
You HAVE to finish your project
BEFORE you begin another.
(unlike quilting....right?)
Good....
You have to finish
BEFORE
beginning.
Bad....
Even though you WANT to begin something new...
(right now!)
YOU CAN'T...
IF
You're not DONE!!!!
But.....
Finishing is ALWAYS a good thing.
Right?
Oh I can't wait to try weaving!
ReplyDeleteWhat great projects :0)
Happy Sewing and weaving Beth
Great philosophy. How long til you get a secong loom? I am really impressed with how much you can accomplish. You,re very impressive. Great finishes.
ReplyDeleteLove your bath mat! Great use of scraps!
ReplyDeleteBeth, it looks cool. How big a rug do you make?
ReplyDeleteI too have made some rugs but my loom Is different.
That rag rug is lovely. and your scarf looks cosy. That having to finish is probably a good idea.
ReplyDeleteLoved your weavings and the contrast between using your loom with the one project at a time approach and quilting with the multiple project approach.
ReplyDeleteYou are becoming as prolific with your weaving as you are with your quilting! Wonderful work!
ReplyDeleteI never thought of that. You do have to finish before you start another one. Kevin is right though. You are prolific at whatever you do.
ReplyDeleteThe scarf is pretty and I love the rag rug. That's what I'd like to do.
Those are very nice projects, and I really like that rug. It's a great feeling to make something useful out of stuff that would be thrown away.
ReplyDeleteLove the rag rug!!! Such a great use of scraps. The blue looks so soft and pretty. That color is luscious.
ReplyDeleteFinishing is a very good thing, and both of your weaving projects are beautiful. The rag rug is especially neat. But the scarf looks like it is wonderfully soft. The texture is great.
ReplyDeleteLove the scarf! Great colors and it looks so soft.
ReplyDeleteHugs
What great woven projects. You get an A+ for your extreme crafting rug!
