I was given a bag of 2" squares last week.
Before I knew it I had some
FOUR by FOURs!!!
Then there were FOUR in a ROW!!!
And another FOUR by FOUR!!!
Gotta Love those 2" squares!!!
I made sure to mark the sashing.....
so that my rows of FOUR
lined up!!!
Pressed.
Added a border.
One BABY QUILT!!!
2" of HAPPINESS!!!
The 2" drawer is not empty.
and...
I'm not tired of 2".
I WILL never be tired of 2"!!!!
I'm adding more 2" to this orphan quilt
given to me.
Hoping to focus on
PINK and BROWN as I add squares on.
It's fun digging around
in my little treasure drawer of 2"!!!!
I have a baby quilt here using 2 1/2" squares.
Thought it was fun to compare the two.
Amazing what a difference
1/2" MAKES!!!!
This is so sweet. And I never knew how to line up my blocks after you add sashing. Thanks for sharing that little trick.
ReplyDeleteWhat great fun and what smashing results! Now if someone would just give me some 2" squares I'll know what to do with them lol
ReplyDeleteI love the smaller pieces. Your quilt is adorable.

So pretty! I am determined to organize my scraps and have been cutting blocks to use "someday." I don't think I would have cut any as small 2" but your quilt is so beautiful, I may have to make some after all! Thanks also for the reminder about marking the sashing. I always try to eyeball it and it never quite works out. I'll definitely follow your approach next time!
ReplyDeleteI have never done 2 inch blocks but have done many 2 1/2 inch projects. I too love the small size and the beauty you cna make from them.

Super cute! You much have so much patience.
ReplyDeleteReally, you are truly amazing! I think you must have lots of energy and endurance! I give up easily. It's a sweet quilt!
ReplyDeleteI love your baby quilt. It is really beautiful. I like working with very small pieces so when I finish a project, I cut my leftover scraps into whatever I can. I have a container with a lot of 1 1/2 inch squares that I will use for a baby quilt. I think they make the sweetest ones.
ReplyDeleteWhat a GREAT idea about marking the sashing! Sometimes mine seems to wander a bit no matter how careful I am. Such cute, cute quilts you have made. I always have a supply of 2 1/2" squares I'm sewing together as leaders and enders and pitching into a little basket on my sewing table. It's full to overflowing so I better start sewing them into four-patches and 8-patches now. Not exactly an "instant quilt" but close.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful little quilt, Beth - and I really like the big one too! I don't think I've seen that pattern before...
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should be cutting up fabrics that I have forgotten about into squares and just get sewing. Your posts really are truly inspirational.
ReplyDeleteI love 4 by 4 and have started hand piecing some, hopefully one day I will have postal stamps quilt!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful quilts. Can't beat a quilt make with LOTS of little squares.
ReplyDeleteyup love making quilts like this. having squares cut already or strips ready to go makes the sewing step happen faster when the inspiration hits!

Lovely baby quilts, the little one is too sweet...what a fun way to use up the windfall of 2" squares...I'm with Nat on the hand piecing so work proceeds slowly...
ReplyDeleteThe quilts look great! I may be making one of those once I get back to using up my scraps! :0)
ReplyDeleteSo darling. I love 2.5" squares.
